CONCUSSION
Treating a concussion,
what is it for us?
Our multidisciplinary team is there to help you at all levels, both in active recovery and in active rehabilitation.
Not to mention the different ways to reduce the risk of concussion:
improving our alertness
your attention
by better managing our stress
being in good physical shape
According to the Public Health Agency of Canada, there have been at least 46,000 cases of concussion among young people aged 5 to 19.
Why should you contact us following a
concussion?
Our very comprehensive baseline is nearly 90 minutes long. Cognitive, visual, reaction time, balance and many other aspects are evaluated during our initial assessments.
An evaluation of the cervical spine is also very important because if the force of the impact was strong enough to move your brain in your skull, we can assume that the impact may have caused cervical problems as well.
Our doctors, specialized in sports medicine, will also be able to ensure that it is indeed a concussion and will be able to refer you for an optimal return.
What aspects to work on for an optimal return to normal?
- visual system
- vestibular system
- cognitive processes
- other sensory processes
Do not hesitate to contact us in order to do your annual baseline to have a reference point in the event of a concussion.
